Contrasting Satan & Jesus

SATAN seeks to overthrow God.

“I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.” (Isaiah 14:14)

JESUS seeks to obey God.

“And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death— even death on a cross!” (Philippians 2:8)

SATAN wants to be served.

“’All this I will give you,’ he said, ‘if You will bow down and worship me.’” (Matthew 4:9)

JESUS came to serve.

“The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45)

SATAN starves people.

“He [Antichrist] also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had his mark [666].” (Revelation 13:16–17)

JESUS feeds people.

“Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, He gave thanks and broke them. Then He gave them to the disciples to set before the people.” (Luke 9:16)

SATAN is the father of lies.

“When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” (John 8:44)

JESUS is the source of Truth.

“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life.” (John 14:6)

SATAN accuses us before God.

“[Satan], who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down.” (Revelation 12:10)

JESUS defends us before God.

“My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have One who speaks to the Father in our defense—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.” (1 John 2:1)

SATAN leads to eternal destruction.

“Wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.” (Matthew 7:13)

JESUS leads to eternal life.

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)

SATAN is defeated.

“And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur.” (Revelation 20:10)

JESUS is victorious.

“And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.” (Colossians 2:15)

It is obvious who you should follow. Jesus, who had no sin, willingly went to the cross to suffer the wrath of God that you and I deserved for our sin. Before anyone receives Christ, he follows the ways of the devil. “As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air [Satan], the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.” (Ephesians 2:1–2)

Because Jesus died for you and was resurrected, if you accept Jesus into your life as Lord and Savior, you will enjoy forgiveness and new life in Him. Don’t wait. Call on Him today.
