(While trying to not be noticed)
In the eyes of a canine companion
One might see sympathetic salinity;
But, the leer in the eye of the cat
Is one of disdainful felinity.
When it wants what it wants, when it wants it,
Its demands are still aristocratic;
And, its cynical act of affection
Generates but dispassionate static.
In the sly, cunning mind of the feline,
A biped is merely a “cog.”
So don’t be the least bit chagrined,
When a cat treats you just like a dog.
