Cool!
Life Along the Midway

Word is out. The buzz is live. Anticipation is mounting.

The Clark County Fair is coming to a fairground near you–the Clark County Fairgrounds to be exact—and all indications are that this will be a county fair to write home about.

Hall of Fame rock band Cheap Trick is scheduled to deliver a riff-tastic extravaganza to the RV Inn Style Resorts Grandstand on Saturday August 6th. For music lovers who want a terrific horn section served up with great rhythm and blues, Blood, Sweat, and Tears takes the grandstand on Monday August 8th, with hits including “You’ve Made Me So Very Happy” and “Spinning Wheel.”
Multi-million selling alternative pop-rockers Daughtry bring their chart-topping sound to the big stage on Friday August 5th, and Sunday night August 7th is reserved for legendary country singer-songwriter Martina McBride.

All shows are at 7 pm. Free seating in the grandstand is available with paid admission to the fair. For fans wishing to get closer to the stage, VIP seating is available for $25-$35.

The Clark County Fair: Pedal to the metal and all cylinders go!

If automotive excitement is on your wish list, Clark County Fair has you covered. Featured is The NASCAR Experience, which puts customers behind the wheel of an authentic NASCAR race car. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to go bumper to bumper at 190 miles per hour, get in line.

Still game for vehicular action? A Demolition Derby at 2 and 7 pm on Wednesday August 10th will surely provide the quarter-panel crushing, frame-bending mayhem Americans know and love.

Enjoy the smell of burnt dirt on a summer afternoon? On Thursday August 11th, Side by Side racing—a driver and a passenger in a Utility Terrain Vehicle racing around a short track– will commence with shows at 2 and 7 pm. On Friday, August 12th & Saturday, August 13th a foot-stomping, crowd cheering favorite unfolds, as the Tuff Trucks race solo over a track comprised of bumps, jumps and a mud pit. Best time per heat wins!

It’s not over, not by any stretch. On Sunday, August 14th, Monster Trucks will pound the ground at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. with a huge line-up of big-wheel behemoths, including the world-famous BIGFOOT.

Once you’ve had your fill of big-block thunder, check out Mutton Bustin’ at 2 p.m. and Hell on Hooves Rodeo at 7 pm on Tuesday August 9th. Watch kids who’ve come to ride in the Mutton Bustin’ event saddle up on some feisty sheep, then buckle up for Hell on Hooves for some non-stop rodeo action as bull riding takes center stage. (Note: Mutton Bustin finals occur during the 7 pm event.)
All this, and much, much more. The Clark County Fair is known for its zany midway strolling acts, and fun features. This year will be no different. Jerry Harris, Master Hypnotist, will be getting you to quack like a duck, fall asleep at will, and dance in front of hundreds – be sure to arrive early for a seat! See Penelope the Clown enchant children of all ages with interactive performances including juggling and magic.

Look for the all-new Wild Science Exhibit presented by Toyota in the Feature Area. The 11,000 sq ft attraction was created so families and children can experience the entertaining aspects of science and technology in a fun and casual environment.

Eric Haines, the One-Man Band returns on bass drum, banjo, bells, and whistles. Just listen, you’ll find him along the midway. Meet Paul Isaak – Master Juggler extraordinaire! From the moment Paul steps onto the stage, get ready for a juggernaut of juggling and madcap madness! Comedian and fast-talking wizard Adam the Great will enthrall and amaze fairgoers from the community stage and midway daily.

The 152nd edition of the Clark County Fair is set for August 5th through 14th. In addition to all of the above, get all the carnival rides, fantastic fair food, and huggable animals any family could desire.

Be there, or be very square.
