Opinion: Fauci’s Most Blatant and Harmful Political Statement Yet. His Laughing was Inappropriate and Weird

Repeats he “is Science”; Laughs off criticism during the pandemic. And no, Dr. Fauci, you are (still) not Science. This will not age well.

Anthony Fauci lives in a delusion. In fact, there seems to be two Anthony Faucis.

Yesterday, NIAID Director Anthony Fauci made what history will remember to be the most political statement of his career, perhaps the most political statement made by anyone during the pandemic. It came during an interview on Face The Nation. The interviewee asked him about the Republican Senators who were criticizing him:

FAUCI: “So anybody who spins lies and threatens and all that theater that goes on with some of the investigations and the congressional committees and the Rand Pauls and all that other nonsense, that’s noise, Margaret, that’s noise. I know what my job is.

MARGARET BRENNAN: Senator Cruz told the attorney general you should be prosecuted.

DR. FAUCI: Yeah. I have to laugh at that. I should be prosecuted? What happened on Jan. 6, Senator?

MARGARET BRENNAN: Do you think that this is about making you a scapegoat to deflect–

DR. FAUCI: Of course-

MARGARET BRENNAN: –From President Trump?

DR. FAUCI: Of course, you have to be asleep not to figure that one out.

MARGARET BRENNAN: Well, there are a lot of Republican senators taking aim at this. I mean–

DR. FAUCI: That’s OK, I’m just going to do my job and I’m going to be saving lives and they’re going to be lying.

MARGARET BRENNAN: It just, it seems, another layer of danger to play politics around matters of life and death.”

Any analysis, for Fauci to laugh about criticism from US Senators, and to then deflect the entire issue with an unrelated turn-around on Jan 6th is PURE POLITICS.

In the same interview, Fauci tried to take the high road by saying that when we look back at COVID-19, we’re going to wonder “what the heck were we thinking?” and that politicization is the number one problem. Two Faucis. One set of rules for him, another set of rules for his critics.

Fauci is either not capable of understanding what he is saying, nor the context in which he is found, or he’s a megalomaniac. In the same interview, he also said a number of Orwellian claims, for example

-He called waning immunity “an understandable diminution in the level of immunity”. Understandable? We were told – by Fauci – if we vaccinated, we could go back to life as normal after being held hostage by so-called “public health measures”. Now it’s “understandable” that everyone who vaccinates will have to boost every year? Will it become “understable” when it becomes obvious that everyone who vaccinates will have boost every six months? Three months?

-He said there are more cases, hospitalizations, and deaths are “dramatically, multi-, multi-, multi-fold more in the unvaccinated” Number? Pick a number. Any study. He has no idea of the study showing 10.6 times more serious, critical and fatal cases in the vaccinated…

-“Although the vaccines are ‘very effective’… given the waning of immunity, boosters are going to very important… a third shot…” he then moves on to expanding vaccination to those who are not vaccinated and “the children”… with not a shred of evidence that boosting with the vaccines that are not ineffective against current variants will have any evidence… and no evidence of spreading of SARS-CoV-2 from children.

CDC’s website on COVID-19 in schools cites, as evidence that children can “spread COVID-19”, an article from April 2020 which actually reads:

“In summary, the transmission of SARS-CoV-2 in children primarily occurs through contact with adult patients, mainly through household exposure. In contrast, direct transmission from a child to an adult has not been reported to date. However, the observation of prolonged detection of viral RNA in nasopharyngeal/throat swabs and feces of pediatric patients suggests that children and adolescents may be transmitters in the community… Further investigation is needed to assess the reason for differences in clinical features of COVID-19 by age, evaluate the role of children in community transmission…”

and another article that reads:
“A total of 815 articles were identified. Eighteen studies with 1065 participants (444 patients were younger than 10 years, and 553 were aged 10 to 19 years) with confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection were included in the final analysis. All articles reflected research performed in China, except for 1 clinical case in Singapore. Children at any age were mostly reported to have mild respiratory symptoms, namely fever, dry cough, and fatigue, or were asymptomatic. Bronchial thickening and ground-glass opacities were the main radiologic features, and these findings were also reported in asymptomatic patients. Among the included articles, there was only 1 case of severe COVID-19 infection, which occurred in a 13-month-old infant. No deaths were reported in children aged 0 to 9 years. Available data about therapies were limited.”

and

“Recently, the group study at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health showed that children are at similar risk of infection as the general population, although they are less likely to have severe symptoms. This finding should be considered in analyses of transmission and control.41 These preliminary data, coupled with our results, may suggest that children, even when presenting with mild symptoms or are asymptomatic, might be a source of viral transmission.”

“MIGHT BE?”

Fauci is also clearly not aware that the most vaccinated countries have larger numbers of new cases.

-“With waning immunity, even the vaccinated, secondarily, become more at risk”. This means the vaccine program has created higher risk for people who are vaccinated, and he appears to be oblivious just how stupid that is. Nor does he seem aware that public is not going to buy into eternal boosters. Period.

He claimed the he cannot be arithmetic about it, and so the only strategy he can think of is to vaccinate as many people as he can, as many boosters as he can. Then why can other countries vaccinate the vulnerable, and enjoy freedom and open society?

-In what was perhaps the most Orwellian statement, he actually said “You don’t control a pandemic from the top down, that’s not how you do it”.

Origins

Regarding origins, he claimed there was probably “a host”, claiming that the reason why we have not found it is because the Chinese “cleaned out the markets”. Really? They tested 28,000 animals from the market, Tony, and never found a single SARS-CoV-2 molecule. Not one. The reality is that The Chinese cleaned out the Wuhan Institute for Virology. The interviewee reminded Fauci that Beijing now says it did not originate from the market.

Breakthrough Cases (Vaccine Failure)

The interviewee asked about breakthrough cases, and Fauci claimed to not have the data “right now”. And this is where obfuscation comes in: CDC is hiding the numbers of cases of COVID-19 by only reporting and following up with cases with PCR Ct <28 who are hospitalized or dead. If he does not know the numbers, then why did he show up on “Face the Nation”?

Masking

Incredibly, in November, 2021, Fauci said the CDC is still analyzing data from studies on masks. Ditto on doing an interview. Not prepared or hiding facts.

Testing

Fauci repeated that he thinks we need to “flood the system with testing”… apparently unaware (???) that when the tests have false positives, that will lead to far more false positive cases than true positives, and will lead to work loss and add to the risk of the incorrect perception of the need for lock-downs. This is widely known in diagnostic pathology – you don’t screen for a rare condition with an inexact test because you will manifest the costs of the false positive. Anthony Fauci as “Science”

Fauci doubled down on his delusion that he is Science. He claimed that when people target him, they are anti-science, that they are not really criticizing him, they are criticizing Science.

Fauci: “I represent Science”.

I know Science, Dr. Fauci. I work in Science, Dr. Fauci. And you, sir, are not Science.
