OPINION: The Hallmark of a great leader

Clackamas County Election Clerk, Sherry Hall
Shirley Morgan

Questions about election integrity are on the rise, but so is a leader who knows how to tackle it!

In Clackamas County only one Election Clerk stands out! Sherry Hall.

Hall’s department directs: local, state, and federal elections, Board of Property Tax Appeals, Recording, issuing Marriage Licenses, Records Management, Passport Services and works with candidates and jurisdictions to help them understand election processes and laws.

When challenges come, her critics often appoint themselves the experts, criticizing her decisions without understanding the legal requirements, but Hall remains calm and courteous, because she knows that her responsibility is to the voters.

Voters are tired of candidates who attack their opponent’s decisions, rather than tell us why they are qualified, which reveals their lack of integrity. Voters are interested in leaders who know how to tackle a challenge and who don’t get wrapped up in the politics.

I’m voting to Re-Elect Sherry Hall, because her 20 years of past experience gives Clackamas County Elections the Hallmark Stamp of approval, certifying and assuring us that all of our votes will be counted, no matter what the challenge, no matter who the critic. That’s leadership.
