As much as I have tried to distract in order to offer my readers much needed cheer, I find that now I need to state my “take” on all this idiocy. First of all, Covid-19 – the fact that we do not have a vaccine is nothing less than a disgrace. I feel so strongly about this that it is difficult not to heap shame on the WHO and the CDC! I have to wonder if this is not being attended to for politically spurious reasons. Now don’t be quick to think “oh, she is so off base!” America is only as good as her government. Politics are politics – productive or perverse. We the people are getting the shaft!
Updated numbers of fatalities are thrown in our faces daily. The time frame for wearing masks and “social distancing” is virtually without an end. Our economy is in the shredder. America is touted as being ahead of the game. Our history is full of accounts of mass arrivals of immigrants on Ellis Island with hope in their hearts. Even in current times our borders are still penetrable. We have a problem turning away anyone. It is a constant drain on our resources with no solution.
We are known for our breakthroughs in science – our cures, our research, our ability to extend a helping hand to all. Let me remind you, charity begins at home! Our research laboratories are state of the art. Our scientists and doctors are medical geniuses. Our contributions to science and medicine are highly praised! So, what’s with Dr. Fauci who is unable to come up with anything other than “that won’t work”!
Now, toss in politics, stir, serve and choke. No matter who one favors, there appear to be flaws. These flaws have been over emphasized so as to appear equal in scope to television specials. Then there is the “normal daily news.” No more it’s not! Let anything related to a crime be committed and it will be blown up to the size of a small foreign country; due to Covid-19 or just plain old prejudice. Yes, bad things happen to good people – all the time! Now, however, it results in reactions that overshadow the issue. Dark ages here we come
So, on top of everything else we realize that racism isn’t a thing of the past! Well, people, neither is human dignity. Neither are human rights! All these other issues have just been lurking, waiting in the shadows to be promoted again. Who gets the brunt? Those who try the hardest to protect us. The fault is not in our stars. It is broadly spread around to apply wherever the media wants to apply it! The media is not friendly, folks. The media is all out for fame and fortune. Power protects itself by “labeling.”
Most Americans are living through these times, day by day. We are in uncharted and deep waters. We do our best given the fact that we live with a daily fear of sickness, with no end in sight – a crime in itself. There will always be troublemakers who will take advantage. However, there will also be community, love, and the desire to help one another. We will have justice and eventually, the ability to prevent wrongdoing. We must support our men and women in blue, our officers who stand by us despite being unfairly demeaned. We are raised to believe in happy endings. Somehow, we must persevere because we are worth it.
