Q & A Candidate Forum Featuring: Candidate Marc Thielman, Oregon Governor

Marc Thielman, Candidate for Oregon Governor

1. In a few sentences, state what position you are running for and why you believe you are the best candidate to win this election?
I am running to be Oregon’s next governor. It will take a strong conservative to move the political dial back toward common sense, balance, and a healthy relationship between the people and their government. As a school superintendent I stood up to the government and – out of 197 superintendents – I was the ONLY one to keep my school open K-12 during the COVID shutdown. I upheld employee rights by granting full exemptions to vaccination, refusing the “jab or lose your job” government threat. I upheld the rights of parents to be the determinant as to whether their child was masked at school.
As a leader who has worked with the legislature for over ten years as a trusted policy expert, I know the system and how broken it is, the many compromised agencies, and I know how to fix it. It will take a proven leader who has stood in the fire against government overreach and WON to my track record of winning will continue as Oregon’s next governor.

2. What are the three most critical issues you plan to tackle once elected?
1) End all mandates and restore public schools to their primary purpose of teaching reading, writing, math, science, history, and civics. I’ll remove indoctrination in our schools so we can focus on teaching kids how to think and not grooming them what to think.
2) Restore accountability through the enforcement of the constitution and law and order. I’ll fund and support the police and define terms such as what constitutes a riot and hold lawbreakers and the compromised judicial system accountable.3) Expand our deep-water ports and related infrastructure and offer a small and medium business tax moratorium coupled with strategic deregulation. Oregon will become the new shining jewel of the west coast and the gateway to the nation.

3. When faced with difficult and complex issues in drafting public policy, what main factors will you consider when making decisions for the community at large?
1) Apply a constitutional lens to the proposed policy solution.
2) Ask, “does this solution create a win-win for the majority of hard-working Oregonians.
3) If implemented, what will be the results of this policy three years from now and will the majority of people be able to see the results working for them in their lives?
4) Is the policy solution reasonable, pragmatic, and sustainable and does it create more access to economic and social opportunity for average Oregonians?

4. Do you believe voter fraud exists in the State of Oregon? If so, would you advocate for a state forensic audit in elections where questions about election integrity may exist?
Having worked and consulted for legislators for over ten years I can say on good authority that voter fraud exists in the State of Oregon, which is why I am a huge proponent of election integrity. The best way to ensure election integrity is with a full state forensic audit of our elections. I will do a full forensic imaging of all voting data/machines, and then compare that data post-election to a second forensic imaging of data/machines. This practice should be standard and routine as it will go a long way to deter and assure that our elections are integrous.

5. Please state your position regarding the issue of Right to Life and abortion.
As a father of nine children, I am strongly pro-life, as life begins at conception and the child is a genetically distinct and unique human being. Because of this distinction, the child must be protected. Children represent our state’s future potential and I believe profoundly that there is no such thing as an unwanted child. As governor, I will champion the rights of the unborn and promote the profound sanctity of human life for people of all ages.

6. Fun facts and Trivia: What is your favorite meal, vacation spot and favorite all time movie?
My favorite meal is hands down the Chimichanga:)
My favorite vacation spot is Coeur D’alene Lake in Idaho
My favorite all time movie is the John Wick Series

7. Bonus question: do you have a motivational quote you would like to share?
“Purpose and meaning in life are championed by engaging in work worth doing.”
