North Coast Food Web to Move to Astoria Food Hub Downtown

Local food system organization takes a major leap forward with new partnership.

ASTORIA, OR August 26, 2022 | Local nonprofit North Coast Food Web has announced that they will be moving into the new Astoria Food Hub space at 1152 Marine Drive this fall. The move solidifies the Food Web’s partnership with Astoria Food Hub’s majority owner, Steward, a regenerative agriculture lender based in Portland.

North Coast Food Web Executive Director Yana Ludwig says about the move, “In addition to a beautiful new office space, we will now have greater capacity to incubate up-and-coming food businesses in an expanded commercial kitchen facility. We are also exploring ways to build our local economy through cooperatives in the space, and providing increased food storage for our producers. That means more time farming, foraging and fishing, and less time (and fossil fuel burning) driving products around.”

“We couldn’t be more excited to provide a new home for North Coast Food Web,” said Ryan Anderson, Manager of Astoria Food Hub and Senior Vice President of Services at Steward. “Their work building new opportunities for local growers and food producers is critical to the success of the North Coast’s local food movement, and we’re honored to have their continued partnership in this work.”
Ludwig added, “Steward has been a great partner for us, including investing in our local food system with a $98,000 in-kind contribution to our capital campaign.”

North Coast Food Web will re-open their online farmer’s market on October 6 in their new space. To find out more about the market, go to https://www.northcoastfoodweb.org/sfmd
