Opinion: As MS-13 Gang Members Are Caught at Southern Border, DHS Focuses Efforts on Non-Violent Freedom Convoy

A recent Department of Homeland Security (DHS) memo indicates that the agency is now actively surveilling any individuals or groups in the United States that may be organizing or considering the creation of a Canadian-styled freedom truck convoy to protest both the draconian COVID vaccination requirements by the Canadian and US governments and also the freedom-damaging policies both are ushering in as a “new normal.”

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said the DHS had already ordered 500 agents to provide air and maritime security support for the February 13th Super Bowl, adding that DHS is “surging additional staff” to its “Super Bowl incident command post.”

“We’re working to address this on all fronts,” Psaki said, alluding to social media posts that suggest a possibility that a trucker protest might cause a “disruption” at the Super Bowl.

As an aside, examples of the US national security apparatus being ordered to execute surveillance and security preparatory action on behalf of a private-sector entity, such as the National Football League – and on the taxpayers’ dime, are tantamount to non-existent and legally questionable at best.

Recent speculative and unsubstantiated media reports fueled by social media chatter were cited in an internal DHS memo indicating that US-based truckers might stage protests similar to the ones that have gripped parts of Canada, including reports of a “Freedom Convoy” that could target Washington, DC in March during the President’s State of the Union Address.

“They’re aware of these reports,” Psaki said of DHS, adding the agency is “taking all necessary steps to ensure that the convoy does not disrupt lawful trade and transportation or interfere with federal government and law enforcement operations.”

Truck drivers have blocked traffic in the Canadian capital of Ottawa and on strategic bridges in a massive protest against COVID restrictions and mandates that require them to show proof of vaccination when entering Canada from the United States. The protests have been nothing short of peaceful and non-violent.

Some Americans have floated plans to organize similar convoys to Washington and elsewhere in protest against both COVID mandates and the unconstitutional overreach of today’s federal government.

Why This Is Important

This announcement comes on the heels of last week’s false-flag “heightened terrorism threat” declaration made by DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. It also comes amid reports that MS-13 gang members are being caught along our unprotected southern border and that Iranian-linked money launderers are working with the Mexican, Latin American, and South American drug cartels.

The “heightened terrorism threat” declaration in the face of the serious events taking place on the southern border is perhaps the most intense hypocrisy ever executed by the Democrat political class in the history of our nation.

To wit, the idea that even a dollar of taxpayer money is being used by DHS to surveil American citizens who are lawfully executing their First Amendment rights to gather and associate, speak freely, and redress their government is to substantiate the allegation that the US federal government is existing as a fascist and authoritarian system of government.

In the false-flag DHS threat declaration, the agency – without any solid, evidence-based catalyst, states:

“The United States remains in a heightened threat environment fueled by several factors, including an online environment filled with false or misleading narratives and conspiracy theories, and other forms of mis- dis- and mal-information introduced and/or amplified by foreign and domestic threat actors…”

This declaration sets the stage for a constant state of surveillance over the American people in the outside chance that something might happen that could be considered a threat to national security. This type of ideologically ginned-up reconnaissance is not only politically motivated, but it is also an overt violation of the Fourth Amendment and contrary to why the DHS was created.

The Fourth Amendment states quite clearly:

“The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”

In fact, unless a court orders surveillance of an American citizen pursuant to the constraints of the Fourth Amendment, a warrant, issued by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISA Court), would need to have been secured. Obviously, the blanket surveillance of those in America’s trucking community by the DHS does not satisfy either the Fourth Amendment or the FISA Court thresholds.

For the Biden administration to so overtly and purposely ignore the protections built into our system of government on behalf of our citizenry – especially where the surveillance of a citizen is concerned – indicates they have dispensed with accepting the limitations of the US Constitution and the rule of law, doing so to affect an ideologically and politically motivated outcome.

The Biden administration is executing lawlessness through an authoritarian Executive Branch using agencies like the DHS, FBI, DoJ, and IRS to unilaterally run roughshod over the American people, all while empowering the bureaucracy with more unlegislated purview by establishing precedents that will, no doubt, be used in a court to sustain those usurpations of our constitutional rights.

The definition of fascism has been twisted like a pretzel by the fascists themselves over the years to cloak what they have been incrementally moving the United States toward for over 100 years. It reads:

“[A] political philosophy, movement, or regime…that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition; [A] tendency toward or actual exercise of strong autocratic or dictatorial control.”

Only the blind, deaf, and dumb (intellectually speaking in this instance) would be incapable of recognizing the Biden administration as a fascist regime. With every mandate, every unilateral executive order, and every facilitation of authoritarian edict from the Executive Branch bureaucracy, the Biden administration tacitly – yet overtly – admits to its implementation of fascist rule.

The last time fascism was inflicted upon the American people it came to us through the policies of the Wilson administration and trickled into the Roosevelt administration. This was the avenue that fascists (read: Progressives, by their own admission in the Wilsonian era) used to create the Executive Branch bureaucracy (or Deep State). It would have been much worse, too, if it hadn’t been for Hitler and Mussolini exposing the totalitarian and genocidal elements of fascism in World Warr II.

Today, there are no Hitlers or Mussolinis to awaken the American people to what today’s fascists are doing. Under the guise of a pandemic emergency, they have conditioned a good portion of the American people to accept a diminishment of their rights, incrementally and without required legislative representation to do so.

And this has been, they believe, the conditioning needed to usher in the World Economic Forum’s Great Reset; a freedom-killing globalist fascism that will end the sovereignty of nations and oppress the world’s people without representation.

Please remember, those who create the chaos usually do so to introduce transformative change under the guise of a solution. In that chaos, the masses – fear-mongered by the manufactured chaos – are inclined to cede liberty for security…and freedom dies.
